Thirteen years on one problem

OmniBazaar started in 2013 with a conviction that commerce shouldn't require handing your money to an intermediary. The market took a decade to agree. We kept building.

The story

2013 — too early on purpose. v1 shipped on BitShares technology: a working decentralized marketplace with about 10,000 real users, years before "DeFi" was a word. Right idea, wrong decade, wrong stack.

~2022 — the honest sunset. v1 wound down. Around 5,000 users' balances were preserved on the blockchain — they are still there, waiting to be reclaimed, because abandoning user funds was never on the table.

2024–2026 — the rebuild. From scratch: our own blockchain where users pay no fees, 100+ programs running on it, an exchange, prediction-market and earning tools, a marketplace, a wallet for 80+ chains — built solo with AI-assisted development, at a cost of a few hundred dollars a month.

April 2026 — live. The new network launched and has run ever since. Three clients — web, extension, Android — ship in lockstep. Hold your own.

Founder, CEO & System Architect

Serial founder (1975–1996) in international franchising, equipment supply and retail packaging, with two profitable exits. Thirteen years in financial services as branch manager and securities principal (Series 7, 63, 24). Director, Legal Officer & EVP Operations at LinkTek (2011–2017). MS Aerospace Engineering, Stanford. Active in blockchain since 2013: he built OmniBazaar v1, then rebuilt v2 solo with AI-assisted development — a live L1, 100+ contracts in source, and three shipped clients.

Chris Keathley

Co-founder, CMO

Co-founder and first hire. 8+ years in digital marketing. He owns how people find OmniBazaar and what they read when they get here: growth and distribution, content and brand, and the community across every channel — plus the launch story for all three apps, the web app, the wallet extension and the mobile app, in the ten languages we ship.

Schohaib Mehran

Legal & Compliance Advisor

15+ years in AML and fintech compliance; advises on KYC architecture, sanctions screening and jurisdiction posture.

Yes, it's a small team — deliberately. The build is done and shipped; the capital and hiring go to distribution. The operating entity is Omni Administration Ltd (BVI).
